She holds a B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from Peking (Beijing) University, a Ph.D. in biomaterials from Rutgers. She began writing poetry during her postdoctoral fellowship in HST, a Harvard-MIT joint program. She is currently working on two books that continue the story of Little Green, a historical graphic novel about Mao, and a film project set in World War II in China. She also works as a consultant connecting biotech and medical device industries to China.
